How to Have a Simple Scavenger Hunt Your Child will Adore

Back in the early Fall, my kids and I had fun with a nature hunt using my scavenger hunt bingo printable for Autumn.  I had made one scavenger hunt bingo printable for younger kids (like pre-k through first grade) and one for older elementary school aged kids.  We all enjoyed it so much and they begged me to make another one for November and December.

My first grader had fun finding and identifying different types of leaves and trees – – even finding pumpkins on our neighbor’s front porch!  We loved it so much and had so much fun exploring our neighborhood that I decided to do it again.

It’s time to grab your brand new scavenger hunt bingo printable.  This is the Holiday & Winter edition!  My kids love this for taking nature walks or even walking the sidewalks in our neighborhood.  This is perfect for preschoolers and elementary aged kids!

This time I added lots of things that might be present in nature – but moreover things that neighbors might decorate with.  It might spawn fun conversations about colors and lights or about which decorations are your child’s favorite.

My six year old & 10 year old loved looking for decorations on the Fall Scavenger Hunt Bingo sheets, so I can’t wait to see what they think this time!

How to Play

You can play this like a game (get 4 in a row -and you win!) or you can see who can check off all of theirs first.  Or just do it as a conversation starter as you are taking your walk.  I think it is a fun way to keep kids engaged with their environment.  We loved our Fall Scavenger Hunt Bingo Printable, so I had to make another one just for the Winter & Christmas Holiday Season.  I think it would also be fun to laminate yours so that you can reuse them (or switch them up for different kids).  I hope you enjoy!
